Our newest Rover harness model is designed with even the smallest details in mind. Especially with large dogs, the movement of the front legs can be very wide and powerful, so the harness straps and padding must not interfere with the front leg movement. We also paid attention to the harness staying in place, because with large breeds the harness easily slides from side to side, rubbing the dog.
Now the challenges have been solved, and we introduce a completely new Rover harness that suits everyday use for adult and growing dogs. A key new feature is the generous adjustability of the harness in the belly piece padding, which makes it fit better for different breeds and body types.
A well-fitting harness is comfortable for both the dog and the walker. It does not rub the dog and stays firmly in place, making even a large dog easier to control in various situations. With a suitable harness, it is easy to exercise and walk, and durable structures ensure safety in the forest, in the city, or in a dog hall. What could be more fun than forgetting the harness completely and focusing on being a dog!
The three cornerstones of the design:
- Adjustable and narrow front padding
- Sturdy and comfortable fit
- Free, wide space for front leg movement
Free movement of the front legs is one of the most important criteria when choosing a harness for your dog. The fit of the neckline and front part of the harness affects this the most. Therefore, the adjustability of the front padding running between the neckline and the front legs is an excellent feature in a dog harness. If there is no adjustment, you may have to choose a smaller or larger size for your dog. Especially if the front padding running between the legs is too short, the chest strap sits too close to the elbow and rubs the dog as it moves. Thanks to the adjustable front padding, this problem does not exist; instead, the chest strap sits a suitable distance from the front leg and elbow. Additionally, in the Rover harness, you can adjust the chest circumference from both sides of the dog, as well as the neckline fit on both sides of the neck.
Adjust to fit your dog:
- Adjustable front padding between the legs
- Adjustable chest circumference on both sides
- Adjustable neckline on both sides of the neck
In our opinion, the harness should feel comfortable on the dog, and the harness details must not press, rub, or disturb the dog. For this reason, the Rover harness has sturdy front padding that protects the dog from the front strap structure and the metal buckles that enable the adjustability of the front padding. The comfortable padding sits against the dog's fur, and the strap and metal parts remain on the outside. You can conveniently hide the ends of the properly adjusted strap in the strap tunnel, so the strap ends do not hang loose and disturb the dog's movement.
The harness's durable structures and sturdy padding ensure that the harness is safe and functional for daily walks and shared activities. The width of the padding running between the front legs also takes into account dogs with narrow frames and deep chests, which means the harness fits well for example border collies, German shorthaired pointers, Irish setters, and German shepherds.
The harness has a leash attachment ring made of stainless steel both on the back and on the front padding. The padding of the back piece extends under the leash attachment ring so that the buckle does not clatter against the dog's back when running. The leash attachment ring is intentionally at the rear edge of the harness so that the harness stays well in place when the dog moves and the leash tightens. The lightweight and padded back piece stays well in place and does not cover the dog too much.
The harness has a strong outer fabric and a soft, comfortable lining. Reflective strips on the back and chest increase visibility in the dark. The beautiful Hurtta straps give the harness a lively, cheerful look.
